The man sat alone in the bar killing shots of Rebel whiskey as Waylon sang about his good-hearted woman. The rhythmic pitter-patter of the rain on the aluminum roof mixed with the drink swept the man into the philosophical. He pondered about the pride of man that led to all sorts of evil and how he would give his left nut for the woman in Waylon’s song. The country Outlaw was so misguided. One good woman is worth more than 1000 one-night stands. A man could ascend to the highest of highs with the support of a good woman, but too many men were too prideful, or too stupid to realize it, and instead made bad decisions they tried to drown in the bottom of a whiskey bottle. Or write country songs about them.

Oh, you think that’s what this man is doing? The one sitting alone drinking shots of Rebel whiskey. No, he’s not lamenting over the loss of a good woman or recalling his lustful missteps.

His mind is on one woman, however: the one under a blue tarp in the bed of his old Dodge Ram truck with a 9mm bullet in the back of her head.

But she wasn’t a good-hearted woman. And he’s not a good-timing man.
